When I graduated high school (40 years ago) I weighed 125 and had a 28 inch waist. At my heaviest I was about 230, with a 44+ inch waist. This morning I weighed in at 166 and my waist is down to 34 inches, I'm getting close to my goals of 15% body fat (currently 18%), a 32 inch waist and to be stronger, healthier and happier (actually, I am lifting heavier than I ever have). 24/7 has done a lot in helping me to get fit. April Reis asked me to name my favorite instructer, I can't because I love 'em all, and they have helped me so much over the last year and a half.

This recipe is amazing! My kids and husband love it, too! It is a fantastic low fat recipe that you can make for the whole family and no one but you will ever know, which is great because I don't have time or patience to make multiple things!

Sounds like a cynic who has quit trying and looking for excuses to me. The CDC confirms that obesity is not due to genetics but due to the amount of food we put into our mouths. http://www.cdc.gov/obesity/causes/index.html

Yes, if your parents are fat, you will probably be too. But it is not genetics, it is due to a lifetime of developing and indulging bad habits that you learned from those parents beginning early in your childhood. It is a cop-out to say there is nothing that you can do to affect your weight - the trick is to develop life long habits that support and enable you to maintain you weight. No,you cannot continue to frequent McDonald's, Dominos, and Krispy Kreme and then say, "my parents are fat, I am fat - there is nothing I can do."

It is time for people to start accepting and owning the results of their actions and the poor choices they have made. Until people do this, they are doomed to continue repeating the same lifestyles and habits that they were raised with. And as a result, the national obesity rate will continue to rise - just like the out of control spending and credit card abuse (all of which are "not my fault").

By the way, please don't let some of the testimonials on this website hear you - these people have done a great job of keeping their weight off. It would be a shame for them to hear the cynism and start thinking there was no way for them to maintain their healthy lifestyles and choices.

95% of those who lose weight will put it back on.
95% of weight control is food control. For every five calories you burn, you become six calories hungrier.
Thin people aren't thin because they exercise; heavy people aren't fat because they don't
People aren't thin because they run; they run because they are thin.
If you've always been fat (and your parents are fat), chances are you will always be fat. You can lose weight, but it is almost a certainty you will but it back on. It in your genes. Sorry.
